Guest sentiment
A snapshot of what local diners frequently mention about this location.
"The place is cute and authentic. The atmosphere is great, even without music. It felt wholesome, the food was ultra tasty, especially the duck. Very straight forward with amazing and fast service. Worth visiting! Be carefull to come there at 19h, because that's when you will be served dinner."
"The food was so delicious! By far some of the best food I have ever eaten in a restaurant. I had a 3 part formula. Garden salad was the starter which had a great dressing applied. The main course was a plate full with cut potatoes and a chicken leg with a thigh attached. The potatoes and extremely tender chicken had a savory mushroom sauce covering the food. Then a perfectly prepared chocolate pudding. It was scrumptious. We had a Bordeaux also wish was so good. Now more to the story. This place is the epitome of cozy. Small, and to some extent cramped, yet it ended like dining with family. Tables need pulled out to sit on opposite sides. But it works. Older French gentleman sat next to us and we ended up taking to them casually. Then a 93 year old retired professor came in and got his lunch to go, half the cafe knew him. Maybe because he has been coming there for over 40 years!! The chef Alan has been there since 1979! This place has Paris history! It is need of expansion and renovation but we will go back soon!"
"A hole in the wall restaurant with an excellent set menu. The atmosphere is very homely and immaculate. I didn't see the sign which said cash only - I don't know if this is generally true or just today - but they let me pay in pounds. Very reasonably priced for an expensive area, friendly staff, and I would recommend."
"Homemade food. Nice and helpful staff. Tasty eggs, salad, and herring. Nice local, Paris atmosphere. 16-18 places inside. 96€ for 4 people with drinks. 3 starters, 4 mains, 2 desserts, a few drinks."
"If you want to sit with locals and have some home cooking please come here. A staple in the neighborhood since the 70s, apparently. Entree, wine, and dessert for only €17 and they take card. Get the homemade chocolate mousse and duck"
"Tiny restaurant with amazing local food. There are only a few tables inside and a few dishes to choose from but the quality for the price was outstanding. The service was very friendly and at the end the cook came even to greet us. Definitely are going to eat here again. Highly recommended for anyone who values originality over fancyness and quality over quantity. Definitely not a place for anyone due to its size but for everyone who wants to eat food in a simple environment."
"My friend and I were looking for a cafe before heading to the Louvre, and we’re so happy we stumbled upon this place! The service was excellent, the food was the best we have had in Paris, and the prices were reasonable with big portions. Felt like a home cooked meal! Cash only!"
"Fantastic food which tastes like home-made food. We got the chicken special of the day with french fries. Highly recommended Parisian restaurant with a great home like atmosphere. 5 star everything."
